A short excerpt from "Lerebours et Secretan"

Pag 215…Noël Jean Lerebours (25/12/1764 - 1840) was a boy of humble origins. He was sent to Paris at the age of twelve to work as an apprentice for builders of reading glasses and later to work for the Louvel Co. which supplied items to other Parisian opticians. He opened his own business when he turned 18, producing scientific instruments of an ever higher quality. In fact, his skill earned him the title of “Patented Engineer” in 1789.
